Steampunk Saloon and Opulent Temple Present: Boomtown

Memorial day is fast approaching and if you are looking for a campout to jump-start your summer, may we suggest the vintage themed, Boomtown.

Set on a private 230-acre meadow just 45 minutes north of Los Angeles, Boomtown is unlike any other campout as it combines music with eco-education, art, fashion and unique whimsical experiences. This fun and funky campout embraces your inner steampunk, and your secret love for magicians; features inspiring workshops, seminars, science lectures, lunar eclipse viewing and vintage performers; and with a DJ set by the legendary Crystal Method, we think Boomtown will start your summer off right.

Visit the Steampunk Saloon, the1880s tent where you will find root beer and lemonade to wet your whistle, a cabinet of curiosities, and treasures from around the globe. The Steampunk Saloon will also feature a vintage magic show, a Vaudeville variety show, a dieselpunk clown troupe and the not to be missed DJ set by The Crystal Method.

The Opulent Temple will strive to connect you with the music in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend. This stage boasts a Jules Verne inspired stage for your musical entertainment. There will also be other forms of art and metal sculpture to tickle your fancy while you’re getting down to the sounds of your favorite Opulent Temple residents as well as world famous acts like the house mogul DJ Dan and the lovely DJ Rap, who was voted #1 female DJ in the world.

In between dance parties, be sure to visit both the Green Grotto and the Makers Market. The Green Grotto is a 20-foot dome with tower gardens and displays on recycling and composting techniques. Here you will find lecturers on such topics as communal village gardens and sustainable living. The Green Grotto is the place to learn about programs that can help create a greener tomorrow. At the Makers Market every grass root vendor makes their own wares including 1880s period apparel, jewelry and props.

Boomtown promises to be a magical weekend you don’t want to miss. Tickets to Boomtown can be purchased here. Tickets are sold on a tier system so be sure to get yours soon!
